The children ministry is very important ministry in the life of the church. Jesus Christ instructs that let the children come to me because the kingdom of God belongs to such. Matthew 19:13-14 Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."Children are the backbone of the church and an important contributor in the society. God commanded that children be taught the statutes of the Lord to ensure they prosper in their lives. Deuteronomy 6:5-9 "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 "These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. 8 "You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. 9 "You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
The Sunday school is comprised of children from age two (2) to twelve (12). For effective teaching and because children learn in ages, the teachers are required to divide the children into ages with a different of at least two to three years (age 2-3, age 4-6, age 7-8, age 9-10, age 11-12). These groups are separately taught by teachers in their classes. This is to ensure that they learn effectively.
In teaching you can begin with a common session for all of the children (plenary), and then divide the children into the different groups according to their ages for teaching. Ensure that there is memory verses memorized as explained in that teaching manual (the stories of hope).
These are children between age 9-12. The boys are called kingdom commandos and the girls are called kingdom jewels. This group of boys and girls can be trained to match, dance, choral verses, sing songs, etc according to the needs of the church. The church is in the process of designing a uniform for this group, but in the mean time they can use any uniform that they can afford to achieve identity and uniformity.
The children’s national day will be held every 2nd week of April annually. The children are given opportunity to minister in the main church, show case their talents, worship the Lord etc. All Fountain of Life Churches International are required to observe this day as they seek to train the children for the work of ministry and develop them into able ministers of the gospel.
CHILDREN ARE A HERITAGE, TRAIN THEM, INVEST IN THEM
